Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about MemoryGlow

General

What is MemoryGlow?

MemoryGlow is a reading light app that turns your iPhone screen into a soft, gentle light source. You can add your child's face photo as a subtle background memory, keeping your little one close while you read at night.

Does the app work offline?

Yes, MemoryGlow works completely offline. All photo processing is done locally on your device, and no internet connection is required to use the app.

What devices are supported?

MemoryGlow is available for iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.

Features

How does the photo background work?

When you add your child's photo, the app uses advanced image processing to automatically extract and cut out the face. It then creates a soft, dreamy silhouette effect with low saturation and gentle blur, so the image stays subtle and doesn't distract from your reading.

What light colors are available?

The free version includes 3 basic colors: Warm White, Neutral White, and Soft Amber. Pro users get access to 6 additional colors: Candle Orange, Rose Warm, Soft Blue, Moonlight, Paper White, and Soft Gray.

Can I adjust the brightness?

Yes, you can easily adjust the light brightness using the slider in the main screen. You can also adjust how visible your background photo appears.

Pro Upgrade

What do I get with Pro?

Pro unlocks the ability to save up to 10 background photos (instead of 1), and gives you access to all 9 light colors (instead of 3 basic colors).

Is Pro a subscription?

No, MemoryGlow Pro is a one-time purchase. Pay once and enjoy all Pro features forever with no recurring charges.

Can I restore my purchase?

Yes, if you've previously purchased Pro, you can restore it by going to Settings and tapping "Restore Purchase". Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device.

Technical

Where is my data stored?

All your photos and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not upload any of your data to external servers.

What if the face cutout doesn't look right?

The automatic face cutout works best with clear photos where your child's face is distinct from the background. For best results, use photos with good lighting and simple backgrounds. If the result isn't ideal, try a different photo, or the app may fall back to a full-image background effect.
